I grew up believing there was only one thing that would make me happy:  being a TV news anchor.  As a kid, I'd sit in my bedroom pretending to be Diane Sawyer.

The passion only intensified as I got older.  I got my first real (= paid) TV gig at a small station in SoCal.  Six years later, I landed my dream job at a national cable network.  I was 28.  It was super-competitive and required a ton of sacrifice (working practically every holiday for a decade), but I loved it.

My Story

It wasn't until my late 30's that I finally said, "Screw it!" and took some time off.  My first stop:  Europe.

And that was the beginning of a love affair that would change my life forever.

Today, I'm using my journalism experience and passion for travel to help you find your life-changing moment.

-I  met my husband June 23, 2015 - on Facebook!

- We got married exactly two years later, to the day

- John's a heavy metal musician.  He's the guitarist for a NY-area band, Black Water Rising

- I'm a passionate history buff - hence, why I love traveling through Europe!

- My favorite topics are European. monarchical history (particularly England and France), The Gilded Age, and early 20th century British history

- I have more than 700 books in my e-library

- 85% are history, historical fiction or historical biographies (and an inordinately large number of books on Venice)

- My favorite subjects are William Marshal (The Greatest Knight), Eleanor of Aquitaine, and Winston Churchill

- I love historical documentaries, especially History Hit on YouTube - Dan Snow and Eleanor Janega rock!

- I also love true crime docs, and am a huge fan of Dateline (Hi Josh!)

- I'm a somewhat obsessive-borderline-psycho animal rights advocate

- I have 3 dogs and a cat who thinks he's a dog

- Winston (Winnie) is a 5-pound Yorkie with 500 pounds of badass and is named after Winston Churchill

- Ludwig (Wiggie) is an 18-pound Chihuahua mix rescue woh likes to lead howling fests with his siblings, has Addison's disease so he's a little....anxious, and is named after Mad King Ludwig II of Bavaria

-Tobias (Toby) is a Puerto Rican rescue cat who loves wrestling with Winnie and Wiggie, biting mommy and daddy, and is named after the frontman of the Swedish heavy metal band, Ghost - for obvious reasons

- Chips (Chips) is a 70-pound Blue Heeler-mix rescue who stares admiringly at me all day long, has the sweetest disposition of any dog I've ever met, and is named after the early 20th century American expat-turned-British MP and diarist, Chips Channon
